Geordie Rose (born January 6, 1972) is a Canadian theoretical physicist and technology entrepreneur best known as a co-founder of three pioneering deep-technology companies: [D-Wave Systems](/wiki/d-wave), one of the first firms to build and sell [quantum computing](/wiki/quantum_computing) hardware; [Kindred](/wiki/kindred_systems), an early [reinforcement learning](/wiki/reinforcement_learning) robotics company; and [Sanctuary AI](/wiki/sanctuary_ai), the Vancouver maker of the [Phoenix](/wiki/sanctuary_ai_phoenix) general-purpose [humanoid robot](/wiki/humanoid_robot). ## Who is Geordie Rose?

Geordie Rose is a serial Canadian deep-tech founder who has built companies at three successive technology frontiers: quantum computing, reinforcement-learning robotics, and embodied artificial general intelligence. He grew up in Northern Ontario and Montreal, the son of a fisheries scientist [15].
