Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how AI Wiki ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit aiwiki.ai (the "Site"). This policy describes what the Site does with data. Where the law requires your consent, such as for analytics cookies, we ask for it and act on your answer; using the Site is not treated as agreement to anything we have to ask about.
1. Information We Collect
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device and usage, including:
- IP address (anonymized where possible)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited, time spent on pages, and navigation paths
- Referring URL (the page that linked you to our Site)
- Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- Security and abuse-prevention data, including salted hashes derived from IP addresses and request timing
This information is collected through Google Analytics 4, which uses cookies and similar technologies. Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve the content and user experience.
Information You Provide
You can browse the Site without an account. If you create an account, we collect your username, display name, email address, and a one-way password hash. We do not store your plaintext password. We also store account activity needed to provide the service, such as saved articles, contribution attribution, and the status of email verification.
If you submit an edit, discussion message, or issue report, we collect the content you submit and related moderation records. If you contact us by email, we collect your email address and any information you include in your message.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
- Create and secure accounts, keep you signed in, and provide email verification and password recovery
- Save bookmarks and attribute, review, and publish contributions
- Analyze traffic patterns and user behavior to improve content
- Respond to your inquiries or feedback
- Detect and prevent abuse or technical issues
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Site uses Google Analytics cookies to collect usage data. If you log in, we use an essential, signed session cookie that lasts for up to 30 days. We may also use short-lived, essential cookies to complete email verification or password recovery without exposing the secret link token to page scripts. The legacy editor login uses an essential authentication cookie lasting up to seven days.
Analytics cookies are not set until you agree to them. Visitors in the EU and EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and until they accept, Google Analytics runs with storage denied: no analytics cookie is written and no identifier is retained. This is enforced with Google Consent Mode, and the region is determined by Google from the connecting IP address rather than guessed by this site. Advertising and personalization storage are denied for every visitor in every region, because the Site carries no advertising. Where analytics cookies are set, they expire after 180 days.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies prevents login, verification, password recovery, and account-only features from working.
We also use your browser's localStorage for preferences such as your selected theme (light or dark mode) and any reset times you save in the AI Limit Reset Tracker. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics 4: For website analytics. Google may collect and process data according to its own privacy policy. Learn more at Google Privacy Policy.
- Vercel: Our hosting provider. Vercel may collect server logs including IP addresses. Learn more at Vercel Privacy Policy.
- Neon: Our database provider, which stores account data, wiki content, and service records on our behalf. Learn more at Neon Privacy Policy.
- Resend: Our transactional email provider. When verification or password recovery email is enabled, Resend processes the recipient email address and delivery metadata to send the message. Learn more at Resend Privacy Policy.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you individually. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AI Wiki, its users, or the public.
6. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings (currently 14 months). Account data is retained while the account is active or as needed to provide and secure the service. Used or expired verification and password-reset token hashes, and expired rate-limiting records, are routinely deleted after a short operational period. Email correspondence is retained only as long as necessary to address your inquiry.
Public contributions and revision history may remain after account deletion where needed to preserve the integrity and attribution of collaboratively edited, openly licensed articles. We may anonymize attribution where appropriate and legally permitted.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your information. To exercise these rights, please contact us at contact@aiwiki.ai.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
10. Contact Us
