- Correction: NVIDIA agreed to acquire Hugging Face on September 2, 2026 (announced September 3, pending close in H1 2027); rewrote the August acquisition-report paragraphs as history, added a deal-terms subsection with the openness commitments and risk factor, updated the lead and financing text, added the criticism section's acquisition concerns, and fixed the stale claim that no final incident report had been published (OpenAI and METR published on August 26).
