Qwen Go! (Chinese: 千问Go!; also written "Qwen Go") is a personal agent built into Alibaba's consumer Qwen app. The Qwen team announced it through its official WeChat account on October 13, 2026, and opened an application page inside the app the same day. Access is being granted to applicants in stages, so at launch the product was in a limited, invitation-style test rather than open to all users.[1][2][3] Qwen calls it a "Personal Agent" with stronger ability to handle personal errands of more types and in more fields.[1][2] Press reports and early testers described it pursuing flight-delay compensation, requesting Taobao price-protection refunds, booking a car service or a sports court, and comparing product prices.[1][4][5]

Background

The Qwen app, Alibaba's consumer AI assistant (see Tongyi Qianwen), went live in November 2025. Since then it has been connected to Alibaba services including Taobao, Alipay, Taobao Instant Commerce, Fliggy and Amap, which let users order takeaway food, shop and book flights from inside the app, and it added a task assistant for planning and carrying out multistep tasks.[6][3] In its October 13 announcement, Qwen said the app already handled personal errands in dozens of fields, among them shopping, travel and logistics.[1][2]

On September 22, 2026, at Alibaba's 2026 Yunqi (Apsara) Conference, Qwen said it would speed up work on a "Personal Agent." Qwen product lead Zheng Sishou (郑嗣寿) said the team was building a new form of personal agent on the agentic capabilities of the Qwen3.8 model series, aimed at the app's 300 million users. Qwen also said at the event that its open platform covered more than 20 service domains and that more than 1,000 partners had applied to join it.[7] In a 36Kr interview published in late September, Zheng described the team's plan as building long-term "personal context" about each user, with a general harness handling planning and tool calls and domain-level agents for areas such as health, learning and work.[8] National Business Daily described the launch as continuing the direction set at Yunqi, and Beijing Business Today and QbitAI linked it to the Qwen3.8 agentic capabilities announced there.[10][5][9]

Announcement and access

On the morning of October 13, 2026, several outlets, including IT Home and National Business Daily, reported that Qwen was about to release a personal agent called Qwen Go!; National Business Daily and Bianniushi cited descriptions shared by users who had received test access.[4][10][6] Later that day the official Qwen WeChat account confirmed the product and clarified its form:[1][2][3][14]

Coverage on the day called the rollout a gray-scale (staged) test or a time-limited invitation test.[5][9] As of Pandaily's October 13 report, Alibaba had not said when the agent would be available to every Qwen user.[11]

Reported capabilities

Qwen said Qwen Go! has stronger task-handling ability and can take on more types of personal errands in more fields.[1] IT Home described the upgraded assistant as able, when needed, to query and operate platforms the user has authorized, compare options and telephone service providers to finish a task.[4] National Business Daily noted that in the demonstration footage the agent's actions were shown on screen and that the user could step in or stop it at any time; TechNode reported the same detail.[10][12] QbitAI described the agent asking the user for an account name and a verification code before logging in to a ticketing platform on the user's behalf.[9]

The examples below come from user-shared demonstrations and reporters' trials described in the press. They are not independently audited results.

TaskReported exampleSource
Flight-delay compensationLocated a delayed flight the user could not remember and negotiated 70 yuan in cash compensation (see below)[10][13]
E-commerce price protectionOpened Taobao's price-protection page, checked the user's orders, found a nonstick wok that had dropped in price and submitted a claim; the user received a 52-yuan refund[13]
Car maintenanceGiven a car model, store and preferred time, phoned Tuhu for a quote and booked a service appointment[13][6]
Sports bookingBooked a badminton court for a named venue, duration and preferred time slot[13][6]
Appliance price comparisonCompared prices for the same refrigerator model across Taobao stores selling the genuine product, adding national subsidies, coupons, trade-in value and carry-upstairs and installation fees, with an instruction to notify the user once the total fell below 4,500 yuan[6]
Other errandsReporters' trials included venue and performance bookings, restaurant selection and reservations, ordering after price comparison, and submitting job applications[1][14]

Flight-delay demonstration

The most widely reported example was a flight-delay claim shared by a test user. According to Jiangnan Metropolis Daily, the user had bought return tickets between Lanzhou and Hangzhou, remembered only that one leg had been delayed, and asked Qwen Go! to "communicate about compensation" without naming the flight.[13] The agent went through the booking platform's order history, which did not mark delays, checked four orders across four airlines and, with help from customer service, identified China Eastern Airlines flight MU2445 as the delayed one.[13][9] A phone call to the airline failed, so it returned to the order page, found the human customer-service entry and continued by text chat.[13]

Customer service first offered a total of 70 yuan in flight vouchers. The user wanted cash instead, and the agent replied in the chat that it refused the vouchers and would accept only cash. After several rounds, the video showed the user receiving 70 yuan in cash, paid to an Alipay account.[13][10] Several outlets, including National Business Daily, QbitAI and TechNode, carried the same account, each attributing it to a user's shared demonstration.[10][9][12]

Context

Qwen Go! arrived during a run of consumer "personal agent" launches. Chinese and English coverage placed it alongside Meta's Muse, released in September 2026, and OpenAI's dots, introduced at the end of that month.[10][9][11] Cailian Press (CLS) framed the launch as a sign that competition among Chinese AI apps, which had centered on office tools, might be extending into everyday consumer services.[15] National Business Daily noted that such agents depend on access to outside platforms and on finishing complicated processes reliably, and that the published cases showed task execution more than long-term learning of a user's habits.[10] Pandaily similarly wrote that performance at scale would depend on how reliably the agent handles authorizations, failed steps and disputes with service providers.[11]

Qwen Go! is a consumer feature of the Qwen app and is distinct from Qwen-Agent, a framework published by the Qwen model team for developing LLM applications with instruction following, tool use, planning and memory.[16] For the general category, see AI agents and agentic AI.
