Stilla

Stilla is a Swedish workplace AI agent developed by Stilla Development AB. It is designed to retain shared organizational context across connected services, receive requests in team channels, and propose or carry out work through those services. Swedish company data lists Siavash Ghorbani as chief executive and Kaj Drobin as deputy chief executive. The two are also identified as Stilla's co-founders.^[3][4][6]

Stilla announced on September 9, 2026 that it was joining Meta AI and that its existing service would continue.^[1] Axios described the transaction as an acquisition intended to support Meta Business Agent, but reported that the transfer of Stilla's team and technology remained pending closing. The publication did not report a purchase price or other financial terms.^[2]

History

Stilla Development AB was registered in Stockholm on November 13, 2024. Its registered business description covers a software productivity tool for companies.^[3] Ghorbani and Drobin had previously co-founded the e-commerce company Tictail. After Shopify acquired Tictail, they worked on the Shop and Shop Pay products, according to General Catalyst and Tech.eu.^[5][6]

General Catalyst said Stilla tested its product with companies including Spotify, Ramp, Lovable, Polar, and Legora during 2025.^[5] These were design-partner and customer claims supplied by Stilla and its investor, not usage measurements published by those companies.

On January 20, 2026, Stilla announced a $5 million pre-seed financing round led by General Catalyst. It named individual participants associated with ElevenLabs, Lovable, Shopify, Legora, Synthesia, Sana, and Hugging Face.^[4] Tech.eu independently reported the amount, stage, lead investor, founders, and Stockholm location.^[6] Neither announcement gave a valuation or ownership percentages.

Product

Stilla describes its product as "multiplayer AI," meaning that one agent and its stored context can be shared by a team rather than being confined to one person's chat session.^[4][10] Its documentation divides connections into personal accounts and organization-wide channels. Personal connections can provide access to services such as Linear, GitHub, Google Workspace, and Notion. Organization channels let users address Stilla from shared spaces such as Slack, GitHub issues, Linear issues, Discord channels, and Zoom meeting records.^[8][9]

The product can search information in connected services and, where permissions allow, create or modify records. Stilla's documentation gives examples such as creating Linear issues, preparing pull requests, sending messages, updating documents, and transcribing meetings. A desktop application is required for its meeting-transcription feature.^[8][10] Reusable agents can run on a schedule, react to mentions in selected channels, or start manually.^[10][11]

Stilla's integrations page said the product supported more than 35 integrations when reviewed in September 2026. It also described extensibility through the Model Context Protocol.^[9] The company homepage separately advertised compatibility with more than 3,000 tools.^[7] Stilla did not publish a counting method that reconciled the two figures, so the larger number should not be read as 3,000 native integrations.

The company homepage displayed the claim "Trusted by 1,000+ companies" as of September 2026.^[7] No independently audited customer count was located. The names displayed as customers or design partners are therefore evidence of relationships claimed by Stilla, not proof of deployment size or measured results.

Permissions and data handling

Stilla says connected accounts and organization policies determine what the agent can read or change. Its security documentation describes application-level checks that operate outside the language model. Supported mutations begin as change proposals, which a person can review; an agent may execute a proposal automatically only when the applicable policy permits it. The same documentation acknowledges that prompt injection and model error cannot be eliminated.^[12]

The company says it uses third-party models, including Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini, for product functions. Its AI transparency statement says customer data is not used to train, fine-tune, or improve generalized models.^[13] These descriptions state Stilla's policies and system design. They do not constitute an independent assessment of the deployed service.

Announced Meta transaction

Stilla's September 9 announcement said that its expertise and technology would strengthen Meta's AI products for business. It also said Stilla would continue operating its existing service.^[1] The announcement did not name Meta Business Agent, disclose transaction terms, give a closing date, or explain the post-closing corporate structure.

Axios reported that Meta planned to use the acquisition to accelerate Meta Business Agent and expand its presence in Sweden. The report said Stilla's team and technology would transfer after the deal closed.^[2] No source reviewed on September 10 confirmed that closing had occurred.

Meta introduced Meta Business Agent on June 3, 2026 as a system for customer interactions on WhatsApp and Messenger, with expansion to Instagram. Meta reported that more than one million businesses were already using a Business Agent on WhatsApp and Messenger. It also reported more than one billion active threads with businesses each day across WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. The associated Meta Business Agent Platform connected to a growing set of hundreds of systems, according to Meta.^[14]

Those Meta figures describe Meta Business Agent, not Stilla. They should not be combined with Stilla's separate claims of more than 1,000 customer companies or compatibility with more than 3,000 tools. Neither Stilla's announcement nor Axios reported that Stilla's integration catalog had become part of Meta Business Agent.

Evidence limits

Public information about Stilla is weighted toward company, investor, and product documentation. Independent reporting verifies the January financing and the announced Meta transaction, but no independent evaluation of Stilla's task accuracy, customer outcomes, integration coverage, or security controls was found in the sources reviewed for this article.

Evidence about the acquisition is also limited. Stilla confirmed that it was joining Meta, while Axios reported that closing was still pending. No disclosed agreement, regulatory filing, purchase price, closing deadline, or completed-transfer announcement was located. Stilla's statement that service would continue is a company commitment, not a disclosed contractual term or a permanent product-roadmap guarantee.^[1][2]
