Fastlane AI
Not to be confused with fastlane, the open-source tool for automating the building and release of iOS and Android apps.[1]
Fastlane (also styled Fastlane AI) is an Australian startup that sells an AI marketing platform for producing, publishing and testing short-form social video and paid advertising creative. It is operated by Possibility Studios Pty Ltd, an Australian private company based in New South Wales, and is headquartered in Sydney.[2][3][4] Its founders are Gaurav Thapa, Jock Ferguson and Anish Sharma.[5][6][7] The original Fastlane product, launched publicly on 23 March 2026, used generative AI to turn trending video formats into posts for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.[7][8] In October 2026 the company introduced Senna, an AI agent that Fastlane says studies a brand's market, makes ads, launches them through Meta's Ads Manager and learns from the results, and relaunched the product as "Fastlane 2.0".[4][9][10]
On 30 October 2026 Thapa wrote on X that Fastlane had raised "$3.5M to build Claude for Ads"; the post did not name investors or describe the round.[11] PitchBook lists NextGen Ventures (Australia) and Side Stage Ventures as investors, and both firms list Fastlane in their portfolios.[12][5][13] "Claude for Ads" is the founder's own comparison. Fastlane is a Possibility Studios product, not an Anthropic one, and its website lists "ChatGPT / Claude" among the alternatives it competes with.[2][10]

History
Founding and pivot to video (2025)
A case study published by Superframeworks in September 2026, based on a Starter Story interview, says Thapa was building apps that nobody saw when he met Jock Ferguson, who had the same distribution problem with his own software product; Anish Sharma joined as the third co-founder.[7] In an earlier Starter Story interview, Thapa said the founders had previously run e-commerce brands and software-as-a-service products and had found content creation slow and painful.[16]
According to the Superframeworks account, the team's first product, started in July 2025, tried to cover several marketing channels at once: search optimisation, replying to people on Reddit, and short-form video. From August 2025 Thapa and Ferguson ran about 20 customer calls a week, and in October 2025 they dropped everything except short-form video. A beta went out in December 2025 to a waitlist of about 2,000 people.[7] Possibility Studios Pty Ltd's ABN became active on 11 September 2025,[3] and Starter Story's company profile gives November 2025 as the month Fastlane started.[16]
Public launch (March 2026)
Fastlane launched publicly on 23 March 2026 and ranked third Product of the Day on Product Hunt.[7][17] Thapa described its main customers as solopreneurs, indie hackers and solo developers.[16] A user entered a website; Fastlane analysed the product and audience to build a profile, then generated short videos modelled on content that was trending in that niche.[14][8] The main screen, Blitz Mode, showed generated posts one at a time to be swiped right to approve and schedule or left to skip, a design the founders compared to Tinder.[7][8][14][16] Approved posts were published directly to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.[8]
An archived copy of the homepage from 25 March 2026 advertised a trending-content library, "500+ hyper-realistic AI UGC avatars" and a banner reading "We've raised a VC-backed funding round to empower every builder".[8] In the Starter Story interview published on 3 April 2026, Thapa said Fastlane had launched the previous week and was already above A$120,000 in annual recurring revenue.[16]
Canopy and San Francisco (April to May 2026)
Fastlane joined the Spring 2026 cohort of Canopy, the program run by Founders, Inc., which ran from 15 April to 22 May 2026 at Fort Mason in San Francisco.[14][18][7] Jerry X'Lingson, co-founder of NextGen Ventures, told The Australian Financial Review that Thapa and Ferguson flew to San Francisco 72 hours after being accepted into an accelerator.[6]
In September 2026 Starter Story reported that two months after launch Fastlane had $69,000 in monthly recurring revenue, more than 1,000 paid users and $1 million in annual recurring revenue across the business, figures that came from its interview with Thapa.[19] Superframeworks put the number of businesses on the platform at that point at 20,000+.[7]
Fastlane 2.0 and Senna (October 2026)
On 14 October 2026 Fastlane issued a press release through GlobeNewswire announcing Senna, which it described as an AI marketing agent that "helps growing companies research, create, launch and optimise marketing campaigns from start to finish". The release presented the launch as the company's move "from an AI content creation tool into an end-to-end marketing platform".[4] On 22 October 2026 Thapa announced the relaunch on X as "the world's first AI that runs your ads end to end", and the company posted an "Introducing Fastlane 2.0" video the same day.[9][10] The homepage was rebuilt around paid advertising under the slogan "Your next winning ad on autopilot".[10]
Funding
Publicly available information on Fastlane's funding, as of 31 October 2026:
| Date | Event | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 25 March 2026 | Homepage banner: "We've raised a VC-backed funding round to empower every builder" (no amount or investors) | Fastlane homepage, archived[8] |
| Early 2026 | Seed round, amount not disclosed | Superframeworks case study;[7] Founders, Inc. Almanac ("VC-backed seed round (2026)")[14] |
| 1 July 2026 | Early-stage VC deal, status "Completed"; amount not shown in the public profile; the profile separately lists NextGen Ventures (Australia) and Side Stage Ventures as investors without linking them to a round | PitchBook[12] |
| 30 October 2026 | Thapa: "We raised $3.5M to build Claude for Ads." No investors, currency or round type stated | Thapa on X[11] |
NextGen Ventures describes itself as a first-cheque fund backing young Australian founders, and its portfolio page lists Fastlane with Ferguson, Thapa and Sharma as founders.[5] Side Stage Ventures lists Fastlane in its portfolio and links to usefastlane.ai.[13] The 30 October post does not say whether the $3.5 million figure is a single round or all funding to date.[11]
Product
As of 31 October 2026 Fastlane sells itself as an AI replacement for a creative marketing agency, built around the Senna agent.[10] The homepage walks through Senna's loop as follows (all descriptions are the company's):
| Stage | What Fastlane says Senna does |
|---|---|
| Learn the brand | Given a URL, pulls the product, colour palette and tone of voice, then scans the ads the brand has run and reports what is working |
| Research | Reads competitors' ads and organic posts and "thousands of reviews across Reddit and Amazon" to find audiences competitors are missing |
| Create | Produces "dozens of net-new concepts per campaign" (competitor remixes, trending formats, AI creators, static images and memes) for the user to approve |
| Launch | Launches ads in the user's Meta Ads Manager and runs AI creator accounts that post daily to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts from one calendar |
| Learn | Tracks thumbstop rate, hold rate, cost per acquisition and return on ad spend per creative; winners are saved to memory and turned into variations, losers are cut |
Senna works through a chat interface. According to Fastlane, users can approve every creative and every launch or set an autonomy level and let the agent run on its own.[10] Paid campaigns run on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) through Ads Manager; organic posts go to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn.[10] The homepage demonstrates the workflow with the brand AG1 (drinkag1.com) and states that Fastlane is not affiliated with AG1 or the other brands shown.[10]
Other features listed on the site include:[10]
| Feature | Description (company's wording, paraphrased) |
|---|---|
| Creative templates | Named ad formats such as "Chalkboard", "Claymation", "Baby podcast", "Netflix doc", "Car yapper", "Breaking news", "Notes app" and "MS Paint" |
| Radar | A library of brands' organic and paid content |
| Remix anything | Senna remakes any image or video (from Radar, a pasted link or an upload) for the user's brand |
| Bulk Meta launch | Approve a batch, set a budget and push dozens of ads live at once |
| AI influencers | Brand-specific "hyper-realistic creators", consistent across videos |
| UGC libraries | 1,000+ ready-made AI creators and 2,000+ licensed videos by real creators |
| Warmed accounts | "Real US & EU TikTok and Instagram accounts, created from scratch, warmed up in your niche and managed inside Fastlane" |
Fastlane also offers a REST API (base URL api.usefastlane.ai/api/v1) for creating content, managing a media bank, scheduling posts and reading post analytics. Its documentation says the Model Context Protocol server "exposes this same API to Claude, OpenAI Codex, and other MCP clients", and that a separate Partner API lets other companies provision Fastlane workspaces for their own customers. Posts can be scheduled either to an account connected through OAuth or to a warmed account.[20]

"Claude for Ads" and Anthropic
Thapa's 30 October 2026 post described Fastlane as "Claude for Ads", a comparison to Anthropic's Claude assistant.[11] The product belongs to Possibility Studios.[2] A July 2026 article in the Japanese marketing publication Funnel Ai Media traced an earlier version of the phrase, "Claude for Social Media", to a launch message from Fastlane's founder that spread on X in June 2026, and explained that it was a metaphor rather than the name of an Anthropic product.[22] Fastlane's own comparison table lists "ChatGPT / Claude" (at "$20/mo per seat") as one of the options it competes against.[10]
The company does use and connect to Anthropic's tools. Its MCP server is documented as working with Claude, OpenAI Codex and other MCP clients.[20] The Superframeworks case study says Fastlane's stack ran on OpenAI and Claude models, fal.ai for images and video, and Claude Code on the 20x tier of Anthropic's Max subscription,[7] and Starter Story reported that the non-technical co-founder built the company's customer-call dashboard with Claude Code.[19]
AI creators and disclosure rules
Fastlane's AI creators are synthetic presenters, and its homepage shows Senna running AI creator accounts that post daily in a customer's niche.[10] TikTok's community guidelines require creators to label AI-generated or significantly edited content that shows realistic-looking scenes or people, and say unlabeled content may be removed, restricted or labeled by TikTok.[23] Meta adds "AI info" labels to content on its apps when it detects industry-standard AI indicators or when people disclose that they are uploading AI-generated content.[24] Fastlane's own guide to labelling says that because its posts go out through each platform's native posting flow, users work inside those platforms' disclosure controls, and that "the duty to disclose stays with you as the advertiser".[25] For the wider debate, see AI-generated content.
