Ray Kurzweil (born February 12, 1948) is an American inventor, futurist, and author. The law of accelerating returns

Kurzweil's futurism rests on a single empirical claim: that the price-performance and capacity of information technologies follow smooth, predictable exponential trajectories, largely undisturbed by wars, recessions, or the fate of individual companies [7]. At Google

Google co-founder Larry Page hired Kurzweil in December 2012 as a director of engineering focused on machine learning and language processing [4][10].
